TENSES OF VERB

Aim

Revising the tenses of verb

Objectives:

Students will be able to understand and do exercises about tenses fluently by the end of the lesson.

Teaching aids:

English lesson plan, pictures…

Procedures:

Steps/ activities Content

- Ask sts to revise the tenses

- Students give the usage of some tenses.

- Teacher corrects.

- Teacher gives the marks of these tenses.

-Teacher explains all the tenses then ask

students to note them.

1 Present simple tense

* Usage:

Diễn tả thói quen ở hiện tại, sự thật hiển nhiên, lịch làm việc, thời khoá biểu.

Ex: I get up at 5 o’clock.

We have English on Monday.

* Marks:

Always, usually, often, seldom, sometimes, never

2 Progressive present tense

*Usage:

Diễn tả một sự việc đang xảy ra lúc nói Ex: She is writing a letter.

We are reading a book.

* Marks:

Now, right now, at the moment

3 Present perfect tense

- S + have / has + P.P.

have/ has not + P.P …et

* Usage:

- Diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ nhng còn tiếp tục đến hiện tại Diễn tả hành động vừa mới hoàn thành, kinh nghiệm, đã tong trải qua.

Ex: I haven’t seen a snake yet.

* Mark ever, never, so far, until, now, recently, already, recently, just, yet.

4 Simple past tense

Ask students to learn forms and usages of

the tenses

*Homework

Students do exercises in exercises book

* Usage:

- Diễn tả hành động hay sự việc đã xảy ra

và chấm dứt trong quá khứ.

Ex: We went to the park yesterday.

* Marks:

Yesterday, last + time, time + ago

5 Progressive past tense

*Usage:

- Diễn tả hành động đang diễn ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ, hoặc một hành động đang diễn ra thì có hành

động khác cắt ngang, hoặc những hành

động đang diễn ra đồng thời.

Ex: While I was doing the chore, she came in.

6 Future tense

* Usage:

Diễn tả hành động sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai.

Ex: I will go KonTum tomorrow.

*Marks:

Tomorrow, in the future.
