Unit 9- A first- aid course Lesson 4: READ (p.83- 84)

I.Aims:

- Help ss understand the content of the reading

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read for the instructions about some more situations requiring first – aid

1.Language contents:

1.Teacher’s preparation: English book, textbook, lesson plan, posters.

2.Ss’preparation: Textbook, notebook, and reference book,review the old lesson,

preview vocabularies

+ Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date?

*Warm up: Bingo

- Ask Ss to give nouns for emergencies which 5’

- Have Ss choose 4 and 4 words on the board and

write them down on a piece of paper

- Call out the words until someone has ticked all

the four words and shouts “ Bingo”

*Pre – reading : Introduce the topic of reading

passage and some new words to Ss

1 Pre – teach vocab:

- lie flat (v): ( mime /

- elevate (v): (mime)

- victim (n): (explanation)

- overheat (v): (translation)

* Checking technique: Rub out and remember

* Network

- Draw the network with some examples on the

instructions page 83

I.Aims:

- Help ss complete the thank-you note Nga sent to Hoa after she left the hospital and know how to write a thank-you note to a friend

- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know how to write a thank – you note inviting his/ her friend to go on a picnic
