A The objectives

- Content: Present perfect with already and yet, comparison of the present perfect and past simple

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand the form and the use of the present perfect with yet and already They’ll make a clear comparison of the present perfect and past simple They’ll complete the tasks and use the language to talk about the activities they’ve already done and haven’t done yet They’ll talk about the flight information and everyday conversations

B Materials: OHP, transparencies, posters, pictures,

Work arrangements: Individuals, pairs, groups, T-WC

Anticipated problems: too many target items, the lesson may take longer time

Presentation

Set the scene and the situation

Get ss to work individually to complete the

dialogue Pair and compare

T gets feedback by asking some pairs to

practise the dialogue aloud

Form: S + have/ has + (already) + PII already

S + have/ has + PII + yet

Have/ Has + S + past participle + yet?

Use: Present perfect with Yet to show that

the speaker is expecting something to

happen; with already to talk about the

actions that have happened sooner than

expected

Practice

- T asks some further questions:

Have you had breakfast yet?

- Ask ss to work individually to study the

flight information

Run through the table

T models, Ss listen and repeat in chorus
