UNIT 2: B b Lesson 1 ( part 1 )

I Aims

1/Knowledge.

-By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter

Bb and its sound correctly

-Understand, recognize and say the three Bb words

-Write the letter Bb

Vocabulary: ball,bed,bee

Sight words: look,a

2 Skill: Listening, writing , speaking and reading.

3 Attitude.

- Educate Ss to be friendly with friends

- Students love animals with the letter b

- S; Le Ngoc Linh know the letter B

II.Teaching aids:

T: teachers’ book, , CD, phonics cards ,paper including the lyrics of the chant

Ss: Student’s book, colour Activity book.

III Teaching method: MAT, TPA.

IV/ Procedure

1 Organization

2.Warm up ( 5’)

-T say / a / ant, apple,alligator

3 New lesson ( 30’ )

* Activity 1.(7)

- T: Introduction of letter B , Its sound and

how to pronounce the words beginning with

1Listen , point and repeat Colour.

- T:Use a card with letter Bb or write on the

board the letter Bb to introduce to the

students the new lesson

-T: Ask students how to pronouce the letter

name and the letter sound by saying “ This

is the letter Bb /bi / The letter B says / b/

- Ss: look and listen

-T:Repeat several times and check student’s

pronunciation(letter Bb /bi / and its sound /

b /

- Ss: listen and repeat

- Ss: work individually and pairs

-T: Use the phonics cards with ball ,bed and

bee , read the words out loud and ask

students to repeat

-T: Use gestures (hand actions ) to help

students to understand the meanings of the

three words

- Ss: look and do

- Ss: work individually

-T; Check student’s understanding T says

the words,all ss do actions and vice versa

-T: Call some ss to say the words out loud

and correct their mistakes

*S; Le Ngoc Linh listen and point

*Activity2 : Memory game

-T: Put the phonics cards of ball, bed, bee

,Bb on the board

-Ak ss to memorise the order of these cards

-Ask ss to close their eyes ,remove one

phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to

name it

- T: Ask ss to work in groups T hangs out the photographs about the storry and ask ss

to circle the letter

- T give the time

- Ss: Work individually

- T corrects and praise the winner

- T: Show the letter Bb again , and ask ss to write the Bb in air with their fingers

- Ss:Write letter Bb in the air

- Ss: work individually and pairs

- T: Ask ss to write down the words ball, bed, bee into their notebook

- Ss: copy down

4.Consolidation(5)

- T asks whole class to read the letter aloud

I.Aims

-T: Ask ss to look at the books and listen to

the words look! A ball , Look a bed , Look a

bee

-T:Use gestures ( hand actions ) to help ss to

name the items they are coloring

*Activitiy 2:Pass the phonic card game

- T; Using the phonic cards of

Bb,ball,bed,bee and line up the ss into 2

teams

-T:Give the first ss of each team a phonics

card and say “go “

- Ss: listen and do

- Ss: work in groups

- Ss say the coresponding words and pass

the phonics card over their head to the ss

behind them

- T: Next, those ss repeat the words and pass

the phonics card between their legs to the ss

behind them

- T:Continue to pass the phonic card over

their head and between their legs to the last

ss

-T: The last ss in each team give the card to

teacher and say the word correctly They

will get one point

- T:Which team has the most point wiil be

winner Continue the game as many times

as necessary

* Activity 3 (10)

-T:Put up the lyris of the chant on the board

- Without music , use the phonics card and

step ss to sing the chant with ball Do the

same with bed and bee

2 Practice.
