UNIT 3: LESSON 1 : P (P1) I.Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce

the letter Pp and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Pp words

- Write the letter Pp

1 Language focus:

Vocabulary: pen, panda, parrot

Sight words: can, I, have, please, thank, you

2 Skill: listening, speaking ,reading , writing

3.Attitude: to teach ps like cat……

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant.

2 Student:

- Student’s book, Activity book

III Method:

- TPA, PPP

1 Organization:

- Greeting

- Check student attendence

2 Warm up (5’)

Greet the pupils : read newwords

Whole class respond by saying

1 Listen and point .Choose 15’

-Introduction of letter Pp , Its sound and how

to pronounce the words beginning with Pp

- Use a card with letter Pp or write on the

board the letter Pp to introduce to the students

the new lesson

- Ask students how to pronouce the letter

name and the letter sound by saying “ This is

- Write letter Pp in the air

-Repeat several times and check student’s

-Use the phonics cards with pen, panda ,

students to repeat

-Use gestures (hand actions ) to help students

to understand the meanings of the three words

-Check student’s understanding T says the

words,all ss do actiuons and vice versa

-Call some ss to say the words out loud and

correct their mistakes

2 Practice 10’

*Activity1 : Memory game

- Put the phonics cards of pen, panda, parrot

Pp on the board

- Ak ss to memorise the order of these cards

- Ask ss to close their eyes ,remove one

phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to

name it

- Continue changing the other cards

- Remember to correct student’s pronunciation

throughout the lesson

*Activity 2: Where the letter 3’

- Ask ss to work in groups T hangs out the

photographs about the storry and ask ss to

circle the letter

- T give the time

- T corrects and praise the winner

3 Production:1’

- Show the letter pp again, and ask ss to write

the Pp in air with their fingers

- Ask ss to write down the words pen, panda,

parrot Pp into their notebook

Memory game

- Put the phonics cards of pen,

panda, parrot Pp

C.Consolidation:1’

- T asks whole class to read the letter aloud

I Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Pp and its sound correctly

-Understand, recognize and say the three Pp words

-Write the letter Pp

and point to the picture of pen

Do the same with panda and parrot

-Ask ss to listen the story and point to the

picture of key words when they hear them

- Correct their mistakes

- Ask ss point to the sight word.Ss listen and

repeat and read aloud

Act 2.2.Song : 10’

- Put up the a pen on the panda phonics

card on board

- Ask ss to point the ant and say the a pen

on the parrot

.Do the same with the rest of the song

- Play the CD Ask ss to listen and sing

- Ask ss to take out the a panda on the

parrot

picture cards and put them on the desk

- Play the CD and ask ss listen and hold up

the corresponding card

Act 3 Pactise: 8’

*Activity : Which one is missing

- Put the card up on the table and give ss a

minute to look at them and ask ss close their

eyes and take away a card

- Ss open their eyes and name the card

missing

- T asks whole class to sing the song at home
