UNIT 1: LESSON 1 : Nn (P1) I.Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Nn and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Nn words

- Write the letter Nn

1 Language focus:

Vocabulary: nut, net, nest

Sight words: a,look, in, and

- Listening, speaking, reading and writing

3.Attitude: Teach Ps to newwords and letter or sound

- T review and let’s Ss to read aloud the letter Nn

- Ss read aloud

- T monitors and corect their mistake

3 New lesson ( 30’ )

1 Listen , point and repeat Colour.10’

-Introduction of letter Nn , Its sound and

how to pronounce the words beginning with

Nn

- Use a card with letter Nn or write on the

board the letter Nn to introduce to the

students the new lesson

1 Listen, point and repeat Colour.

Vocabulary:

- Ask students how to pronouce the letter

name and the letter sound by saying “ This

is the letter Nn /en / The letter N says / en/

-Repeat several times and check student’s

pronunciation(letter Nn /en / and its sound /

n/

-Use gestures (hand actions ) to help

students to understand the meanings of the

three words

-Check student’s understanding T says the

words,all ss do actions and vice versa

-Call some ss to say the words out loud and

correct their mistakes

2 Listen and point Colour 8’

- Ask ss to look at the books and listen to

the words Look ! A nut!

Look ! A net!

Look ! A nest!

-Use gestures ( hand actions ) to help ss to

understanding the meaning of command

-Ask ss to repeat by using the phonics cards

of nut, net, nest combining with gestures

- Ask ss to colour Look ! A nut!

Look ! A net!

Look ! A nest!

using any colour they like

- T goes round the classroom ,asking ss to

name the items they are coloring

*Activitiy :Pass the phonic card 5’

- Using the phonic cards of Nn, nut, net,

nest and line up the ss into 2 teams

-Give the first ss of each team a phonics

card and say “go “

- Ss say the coresponding words and pass

the phonics card over their head to the ss

behind them

- Next, those ss repeat the words and pass

the phonics card between their legs to the ss

behind them

- Continue to pass the phonic card over their

head and between their legs to the last ss

- The last ss in each team give the card to

teacher and say the word correctly They

- Which team has the most point wiil be

winner Continue the game as many times

as necessary

3 Chant and show: 10’

-Put up the lyris of the chant on the board

- Without music , use the phonics card and

step ss to sing the chant with nut Do the

same with net and nest

- With music ,the whole class sing the

whole chant Do the chant again using

gestures for eacg word

- Give feedback

*Activity1 : Memory game

- Put the phonics cards of nut, net, nust,

Nn on the board

- Ask ss to memorise the order of these

cards

- Ask ss to close their eyes ,remove one

phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to

name it

- Continue changing the other cards

- Remember to correct student’s

pronunciation throughout the lesson

*Activity 2: Where the letter 3’

- Ask ss to work in groups T hangs out the

photographs about the storry and ask ss to

circle the letter

- T give the time

- T corrects and praise the winner

* Production:

- Show the letter Nn again , and ask ss to

write the Nn in the air with their fingers

- Ask ss to write down the words nut, net,

nust, Nn into their notebook

4.Consolidation:1’

- T asks whole class to read the letter aloud

- T asks whole class to read the chant aloud

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

- Put up the nut, net, nest phonics card

on board

- Ask ss to point the ant and say N for

nut

.Do the same with the rest of the song

- Play the CD Ask ss to listen and sing

- Ask ss to take out the nut, net, nest

picture cards and put them on the desk

- Play the CD and ask ss listen and hold

up the corresponding card

3 Pactise: 8’

*Activity : Which one is missing

- Put the card up on the table and give ss

a minute to look at them and ask ss close

their eyes and take away a card

- Ss open their eyes and name the card

missing
