Objectives: - Introduce how to learn English and the use of the textbook and workbook

- Test Ss’ knowledge they have known in order to have suitable method of

teaching

Teaching aids: Workbook , textbook, test papers

Procedure:

A INTRODUCTION

I.Greeting: Introduce myself

What’s your name?

Where are you from?

II Introduce the textbook and workbook

-The textbook includes 12 units with interesting topics

-Each unit has 7 parts and it is divided into 7 lessons

-( Remember) is important part which Ss have to learn

by heart

- 12 unit : 105 lessons

- Each term has two or three 15-minute tests; two

45-minute tests and one Semester test

III.How to learn English

-Learn by heart new words and new structures

- Prepare new lesson at home and do homework

-Sts can combine the textbook and workbook to

practice new target language

- ( Listen to the tape, practice speaking skill with your

friends, read English story for children or watch the

cartoon film)…

- Introduce themselves

- Listen and take notes if necessary

- Answer the questions

- Give the ways how to learn English

- Give ideas of how to learn English well

Lesson 1 : GETTING STARTED - LISTEN AND READ

Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand the conversation

about a special day, the first day at school

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

+ use some daily conversations to talk about their first day at school

+ know and use effectively questions used to ask a new classmate

Teaching aids:Textbook,Posters, pictures, a cassette

Procedure:

I Warm up:

Slap the board

- Teacher sticks the pictures of school things on

the board

- T reads the name of each thing , Ss listen and

slap the things read by the teacher : bicycle, pencil

sharpener, , calculator , rubber, compass,

notebook, ruler, textbook pencil case, school bag

II Pre - TEACHING :

1 Chatting:

Teacher sets the scene by asking Ss about the

picture

- What is Phong doing ?

- Who are Duy and Vy ?

- Why is it a special day ?

2 vocabulary:

- to knock : gõ cửa(mine)

- to be excited about : háo hức(example)

- to look + adj : trông có vẻ(translation)

-Listen

- Listen and slap the things read

- Pronounce correctly the sounds /∂ʊ/ and /Λ/ in isolation and in context

- Use the combinations: to study, to have, to do, to play+ Noun

Teaching aids:Textbook,posters, , cassette player, handouts

Procedure:

I Warm up - Greeting.

II Vocabulary:

1 Work in groups of 4 to match the pictures to

the words.

- Give out ten pictures and a poster of ten words,

and ask Ss to work in groups of 4 to match the

pictures to the words:

- Call some Ss to answer by saying out loud

2 Listen and repeat

- Play the recording and let Ss listen Play it again

and pause for them to repeat each word Correct

their pronunciation

3 Put the words into groups

sounds /∂ʊ / and /Λ/ on the board

- Pronounce two sounds /∂ʊ / and /Λ/ and ask Ss to

observe the T’s lip positions for these two sounds
