Trang 7Key Points for Antenna Installation
When installing the antenna, ensure that:
The azimuth and tilt angle of the antenna are consistent with the
design
The antenna connection and the sector configuration are correct
Indices of the BTS calibration test and sensitivity test meet the
The omni-directional antenna is vertical, with error less than ±2°
The azimuth error of the directional antenna is less than ±5°, and the down tilt error is less than ±0.5°
The GPS/GLONASS antenna support is fastened reliably The field angle of the antenna is 90° and there is no obstacle around
The top of omni-directional antenna jacket is in flush with the support or a bit higher than the top of the support
Trang 8Key Points for Routing the Antenna Feeder
Bind the jumper connecting with the antenna to the steel frame on the
tower along the cross bar of the support
Reserve a certain margin when you trim off the cable ties outside the
When bending down the feeder on the roof along the wall, the part in
contact with the edge of the wall should install the protection tube
The minimum bending radius of the feeder must be equal to or larger than
20 times of the feeder diameter
The feeder is not folded or twisted No copper wire is exposed out of the feeder
Trang 9Routing the Antenna Feeder on the Mast or Tower
The antenna feeder must be straight and not interlaced You need to fix the feeder at an even interval and prepare connectors in compliance with the specifications You also need to apply water-proof measures to the outdoor grounding part and connectors
Trang 10Installing Outdoor Grounding Clip (Outdoor
Water-Proof Measure)
Make a waterproof curve before leading the jumper into the cabinet or
leading the jumper out of the feeder window
Take the lighting protection grounding measure for the lightning arrester of GSM macro BTSs After the grounding cables are gathered, connect them
to the protection grounding bar outside the equipment room
Directly and reliably fix the feeder grounding clip to the steel bar of the
nearby tower Prepare the feeder grounding clip in compliance with the specifications Apply anti-rust, erosion-proof and water-proof measures to the connection of grounding clip
The grounding cable of feeder clips should extend from up to down The angle between the grounding cable and the feeder cable should not be more than 15 degrees
If the tower is more than 60 meters tall, add one feeder grounding clip to the feeder in the middle of the tower
Trang 11Installing Outdoor Grounding Clip (Outdoor Proof Measure)
Water- After the feeder leaves the tower, lay the feeder on the roof (or cabling rack) for a certain distance before leading the feeder into the equipment room If this distance exceeds 20 meters, add one lightning grounding clip
on the roof (or cabling rack)
When routing the feeder from the tower top to the equipment room,
ground the feeder at three points which fall into the following ranges: one meter after the feeder leaves the platform of the tower, one meter ahead
of the outdoor cabling rack after the feeder leaves the tower, and one
meter away from the feeder window Bundle the feeder reliably at the
grounding point and apply water-proof measures
If the feeder is less than 10 meters, ground the feeder at a point only
Avoid contact between the connector of the feeder or lightning arrester and the cabling rack
Trang 12Introduction to Grounding Clip of Antenna Feeder
Fix and fasten the grounding clip
The waterproof wound completed
Wind the first-layer of the waterproof plaster opposite from the direction of feeder routing
Trang 13Preparing the Feeder Grounding Clip
Fix the grounding cable on the cabling Rack and fasten the screws Wind the secondly -layer of the tape opposite to
the direction of feeder routing
Trang 14Preparing the Feeder Grounding Clip
Feeder grounding clip installation specification — Winding the tape on the grounding clip
Wind the tape from bottom upward layer by layer, and then from top downward, and finally from bottom up
The upper layer of the tape should cover about one third of the lower layer
Trang 15Grounding the Feeder when Routing the Feeder Outdoors
Ground the feeder one to within one
to two meters under the antenna
Feeder must be grounded on the iron
tower If the feeder is routed on the
mast, you can only ground the feeder
at the bottom of the mast because you
cannot install a fixing grounding clip on
the mast In practice, you need to
ground the feeder according to the field
Trang 16Grounding the Feeder Within One Meter Away from the Equipment Room
Ground the feeder within one meter away from the equipment room.
Trang 17 Reserve an appropriate margin on the outdoor cable tie of the feeder.
Make a water-proof curve properly
Seal the feeder window properly
Make a water-proof curve before leading the feeder into the equipment room Seal the feeder window properly Reserve
an appropriate margin on the cable tie.
Trang 18Installing Feeder Tube Clips
Use the feeder tube clips to fix the feeder on the cabling ladder and tower
When the antenna is installed on the mast, it is not convenient to use the feeder tube clip for fastening In this case, directly use cable ties to fix the feeder and reserve an appropriate margin on the cable tie
Trang 19Installing and Bundling Feeders inside the Cabinet
Bundle the RF cables with appropriate tightness Do not make too tight, in the case, the feeder is damaged Meanwhile, fasten the RF connectors and cover the
RF connectors not in use with protection caps No RF connectors can be
exposed
Trang 20Grounding Feeder Lightning Arrester
The grounding point of the feeder lightning arrester must be reliably connected Meanwhile, avoid direct contact between the lightning arrester with the cabling ladder Insulation measures are recommended (You can either use the
insulation tape or the feeder skin for insulation purpose.)
Trang 21Installing Feeders on the Cabinet Top
Secure the connection between the feeder connector and cabinet top After the antenna connector is ready, use the heat-shrinkable tube to coat the connector The heat-shrinkable tube be agreeable in appearance and uniformed in
specifications All connecting screws must be fastened
Trang 22Effect after the Outdoor iSite Installation is
Trang 23Preparing Feeder Labels
Feeder labels are generally required
at several points: under the antenna, below the tower, at the entrance to the equipment room, at the connection point of the lightning arrester, and on the top of the cabinet Generally, places where labels are attached and the label directions must be consistent
on different types of cables.
