Period 81: lesson 1 A1+2 I.Objectives.

- After the lesson Ss will be able to get acquainted with the new topic : Sports And they will learn the new words: baseball, skateboarding, roller- skating, basket ball,

-To drill Ss the listening and speaking skills

Ask ss to name the sports they know in English ?

3.Presentation:

A Warm up

- Ask Ss to devide these sports into two groups:

Basketball tennis

Badminton Swimming

Volleyball Baseball

Rollerblading Football

Altheletics Soccer

Bicycling Walking

B.Pre-listening and speaking.

- Introduce the topic of the lesson and ask Ss to name the sports in the pictures.

- Give the meaning of the new words

- Roller -skating: trượt pa tanh

- Roller – blading:Trượt pa tanh

- Base ball: Bómg chày

- Skateboarding: Trượt ván.

- Read the new words aloud in chorus

- Ask Ss to read the reading in silence and then list the sports they know

C While- reading and listening.

Ask Ss to listen to the tape twice and then read the reading

-Introduce more new words:

- Read again the name of sports

D Post-reading and listening.

-Introduce the order of the lesson and ask Ss to read the sports in the text book ( p:130)

-Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice asking and answering the questions about the sports they like

S2: I like badminton best.

-Ask Ss to write the number of students who like each sport best.Then add

altogether to see which sport is the most popular in the class

4 Consolidation :

-Ask Ss to retell the main content of the lesson: The famous sports in the USA and

- Ask Ss to write the name of sports and do the exercise 1 in the work book

Careless -> Carelessly

Skillfull -> Skillfully

Clear -> clearly

He is quick > < He runs quickly.

-Ask Ss to read the examples

-Ask Ss to read the sentences in the text book

-And aks Ss to explain the way to use the adverbs in the sentences

Adj goes before noun and modify the noun.

-Adv goes with the sentences that have ordinary verb and they modify the verbs.

Note: Good -> well Hard -> hard

Fast-> fast Early -> early Late -> late.

-Ask Ss to listen to the order of the lesson and give the meaning of new words:

Summer is on its way: kỳ nghỉ hè đang đến gần Aim: mục đích

Water safety awareness: chú ý về sự an toàn dưới nước

Pool lifeguard: người cứu hộ Pool edge: thành bể Obey: tuân theo

Be aware of : nhận thức Red and yellow flags: cờ đỏ, cờ vàng -Ask Ss to work in pairs to change the adjectives into adverbs

-Write the answers on the BB

Clear -> Clearly.

Careful -> Carefully.

Safe -> Safely.

Careless -> Carelessly.

Strict -> Strictly.

-Read the reading again

-Read the dialogue aloud ( work in pairs)

-Call some pairs to read the dialogues aloud

a) Ba: Coma and play basketball, Nam.

Nam: I’ m sorry I don’t think I can
