Unit 6: THE YOUNG PIONEERS CLUB Period 32: Getting Started + Listen and Read

I/ AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

* Language content :

-To provide the sts with some words relating to the Ho Chi Minh young pioneer and youth Organization

- To give the sts the ways of guessing the meanings of unknown words using

linguistic and contextual clues

- To highlight and practice gerund after prepositions and some verbs such as: like, love ,enjoy

*Language function :

- To enable the students to talk about the activities of Y &Y

- To enable thests to develop the sts’s skill of giving their opinion and advice

2 Skills: Integrated skills

3 Education factor: - To extend the students’s knowledge of the Ho Chi Minh

young pioneer and Youth organization.To educate them to do good things for everyone

II.TEACHER AND STUDENTS’PREPARATION:

1.Method : Communication Approach :

2.Techniques: Question-Answer, Repetetion, Role- play, Pairwork and Groupwork 3.Materials needed: Sub- board , Cassette

4.Students’ preparation: Revise the form of the verbs + new words

5.Previous exercises: Change the sentences into reported speech.

III/ PROCEDURE IN CLASS :

1.Stabilization ( 2ms):

a Warm up: - Asks students to answer the questions about the weather and health…

b Checking absence: Asks the monitor about the absence

2.Checking up previous knowledge ( 5ms)

- Asks the sts to rewrite the sentences using the words given

* Language content :- To help the sts review suggestions and get acquainted with some new ways of asking for and answering to favors, offering, responding to

assistance

-To develope the students’s skill for listening to a song “Children of the world

unite” to fill in the missing words

*Language function :

- To enable the students to develop their listening skill and understand the content of

the song

* Educational aim :

- To help the students to have asking for favors politely and how to reply politely

- To educate the sts to offer assistance to others

1 Language:

a Vocabulary:: - favor, offer, assistance, respond.

- to make a stand, unite, right, peace,

b Structures : - Could you help me?/ Could you do me a favor?
