UNIT 11: WHAT DO YOU EAT?

Section A At the store Lesson 3: A3.4.

I/ Objectives.

1/ Educational aim

Ss should help their partner’s parents

2/ Teaching aim

By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to ask and answer about need / liking, ask and answer about numbers, quantities

II/ Preparations.

Textbook, tape, pictures, cassette, chalk

III/ Procedures

1/ WARM – UP (5’).

- Have ss play game “Slap the board”

2/ PRESENTATION (10’).

- Give Ss handouts Then ask SS to make the

dialogue with the right order

1 How much rice do you want?

2 Half a dozen, please

3 How many oranges, Mom?

4 Two kilos and I need half a kilo of beef and

some oranges

5 Yes, Mom What do you need?

6 A bottle of cooking oil and some rice

7 Can you go to the store for me?

- Ask some groups to write the answers on the

board

3/ PRACTICE (15’).

- Play the tape A4 for the SS

- Ask SS to role play the dialogue in front of the

class

- Have them answer some questions they have just

listened

* What does Nam’s mother need?

* How much rice does she want?

* How many oranges does she need?

- Play game

- SS arrange them into a complete dialogue

( group / pair works)

- Write the answers on the board

- Listen and repeat

- Practice the dialogue in pairs before the class

- SS answer the questions

-> She needs a bottle of cooking oil and some rice

-> She wants 2 kilos

- Ask SS to read the dialogue again to check the

dialogue (prediction)

- Make correction

- Ask SS to write “shopping list” based on the

dialogue

4/ PRODUCTION (13’).

- Have ss give the names of the objects in the

pictures (A3)

- Let ss to listen to the tape A3 to match names

- Call some ss to give answers

- Make corrections

III/ Procedures

1/ WARM – UP (5’).

Kim’s game

- Divide class into four groups and ask Ss to play

the game

- Introduce the lesson: “Last period we

learned some food and drink; today we are going

to continue learning with them”

2/ PRESENTATION (15’).
