Unit 11: National park Period 4: writing

I – Aims

1 Knowledge: by the end of the lesson, students may be able to write letters of refutation and

acceptation

2 Skill: students practice writing skill and the form of a letter.

II – Method and Materials:

- Teacher presents and students take notes Then, teacher gives exercise for students to practice

- Textbook, a card/letter, poster and board

III – Anticipated problems

Students may not experience some expression of refusing and accepting in vitation

 Ask some questions to help students realize formal and informal letters

 Show the category board and ask students to copy

 Call a student read the requirement to make clear what they will do

 Ask students to study three letters carefully

 Give new words if necessary

 Help students to find out:

 Similarity between the letter 1 and 3: accepting letters

 Difference between the letter 2 and others: refusing letter

 To write a letter of acceptance

+ Should thank for the invitation

+ Say agreement (use one of the ways of accepting)

 To write a letter of refusal + Should thank for the invitation + Refuse the invitation (should give out the reas on for refusal)
