STORY TIME – REVIEW 2

I AIMS:

1 Knowledge: To consolidate the sound of the letters Rr, Ss, Tt and Uu and the

corresponding words

Vocabulary: Revision

Rabbit, rocket, robot, ring

Sun, star, snake, seal

Tree, tent, tiger, tea

Up, umbrella, ugly, under

2 Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing

3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce Rr, Ss, Tt and Uu the letter

and its sound

(Requirements: students with disability can see and practise )

- Teacher’s:i-Learn My Phonics Grade 2 , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards

- Students’: Pupil’s Book –p.9 i-Learn My Phonics Grade 2,

1.Listen Read along (Track 53) (5mins)

(book closed) Tell the students that it’s

story time

Ask them if they remember the previous

story If not, the teacher can spend some

time going through it (use 1st language if

necessary)

Prepare phonics cards of these word:

snake, sun, tiger, tree, umbrella

Ask the students to read out the words

Invite students to guess what they think

the story is about

Ask individual students to read the story

aloud

Ask students with disability to read

Activity 2

2.Who’s missing? Draw and color

(5mins)

Explain the activity

Point to the umbrella and the animals and

name them

Ask the students to say which animal is

missing

Ask them to draw and color it

Correct teacher (5mins)

Point to an item in the story

Ask individual student to correct teacher’s

statements

e.g Teacher: (pointing to the tiger in

picture 1) Look! It is a robot.

Student 1: No! It is a tiger! etc

Ask students with disability take part in

Activity 1

1.Circle the right letters Say the letter

and sound (5mins)

Explain the activity

1.Listen Read along

Look! the snake is in the sun Look! the tiger under the tree

Oh!, no Where is the snake?

Look! the snake is under an umbrella

Ask individual students to read the story aloud

Ask students with disability to read

2.Who’s missing? Draw and color

Correct teacher

1) Look! It is a robot.

: No! It is a tiger! etc

Listen again, pause and ask the students to
