LESSON 1 - ( PART 1-2-3)

I.AIMS

1 Knowledge: By the end of this unit pupils can

- Use the words and phrases related to the topics Free time activities Ask and answer questions about What someone does in his/her free time, using What do

you do in your free time? – I

Sentence Pattners: What do you do in your free time? – I

- Vocabulary: free time, karate, surf the internet, clean,

2 Skills: - Develop Ss reading, speaking and listening skills .

3.Attitude:-In this lesson, studious and obedient students and love their

hometown, family and friends

1 Teacher’s: English book , lesson plan, word cards, CD, cassette soft book

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III.TEACHING METHODS

-Communicative approach.

Play bingo game.:play badminton, play chess, go fishing then get to make the

sentences with the phrases in game

Introduce the dialogue ask ss look at the pictures

to identify the characters(Tom and Nam) and the

context in the book guess what the story is about

and point at each picture to elicit their answers to

Check and correct/ understanding of te story

.Ask Ss t look at the pictures a, b, c and d on

page 12 to name people in each picture Ask Ss

to guess and complete the speech bubbles

- Teach vocabulary:

Check vocab: what & where

Play game: What and where ( Whole class)

- Ask Ss to look at picture d in part 1 again.

- Have them read the question in the picture

- Write the question on the board

- Teach Ss how to answer:

What do you do in your free time?

- I ride my bike in the park.

- Ask Ss to change the underlined words to have

another answers

and complete the sentences

- Give them a few seconds to read the text and

given words Remind them to focus on the context

to guess the words to fill the gaps

- Set a time limit for them to do the task

help, if necessary

- Get them to compare their answers in pairs

before checking as a class If there is enough time,

have the class read the completed text aloud

Activity 6

6 Let’s play: 10’

- Tell the lass thay they are going to play a

matching game

-Divide the class into groups of ten.Give each

pupil in each group a piece of paper with one of

the following

words/phrases:go,surf,clean,play,watch,

Cartoons,the Internet,badminton,the room,

to the cinema.When one pupil in the group holds

up the piece of paper with go and says the word

aloud,the pupil who has the peice of paper with to

the cinema holds it up and say the word aloud

The game continues until all the pieces of papaer

are matched

- The group that finishes the game the quickest

wins

5 Read and complete
