1 Class organization :

- Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you?

- Checking for the students’ attendence:

2 Warm up :6’

Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson Get two groups of ps to go to the front of the class to sing the chant school, school, school! Ask the rest of the class to chant along and do actions

a Pre- reading

- Ask Ps to look at the text and pictures , ask some

questions

- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and complete

- Aks Ps to read the text and focus on the information to

complete the passage ( what the girl’s name is, what

nationality she is, what the name of her school is, where

- Ask Ps to read the passage and find appropriate

information from the text to fill the gaps

- Ask Ps to work in pairs or small group

- Give them time to do the task independently

- Get Ps to swap their answers before checking as a class

- Let some pairs ask and answer some questions eg:

what’s her name? what nationality is she? What’s the

name of her school?, where is her school? what class is

she in?

c Post- reading

- Have Ps display

* Activity 2: (10’)

5 Write about your school.

a Pre- writing:

- Tell Ps that they are going to write a short paragraph

about their school and their class

- Ask Ps towork in pairs or groups to discuss what are

they going to write

- Focus ps on the name of the school, its location and the

class they are in.Check comprehension

b While-writing

- Give ps time to do the task independently

- Get Ps to swap their answers before checking as a class

- Ask one Ps to write on the board

c Post writing

- Call some Ps to read aloud / display their writing

5 Write about your school.

*Activity 3:7’

- Tell Ps that they are going to do a project Explain the

task and check understanding

- Give each ps a small card Let ps copy the four

categories from the book onto their cards Encourage

them to decorate their cards

- Ask them interview one of their friends using the

questions what’s your name? what’s the name of your

school? Where’s your school? What class are you in?

- Write the information on the cards and describe their

partners’ friends

- Call some ps to the front of the class and tell the class

about their partners friends

- Make this activity more challenging,

- May ask them not to look at the cards

Ask and answer questions about what someone likes doing, using What do you like doing? I like + verb- ing + noun

- Sentence patterns: What do you like doing? I like + verb- ing + noun

- Vocabulary: swimming, cooking, playing chesss, collecting stamps

2 Skills:

- Develop Ss Listening-reading-speaking-writing

3 Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson

like doing

- Ask Ps to look at four pictures to identify the

characters( Linda, Nam, Tony and Phong) and the

context in which the language is used

- Ask them questions such as: Who are they? Where

are they? What are they talking about? ( In a:

Linda, Phong and Tony are visiting Nam’s house In

b: Nam tells his hobby, using I like reading In c:

Linda says to Nam and Tony I like listening to

music In d: Tony asks Phong What do you like

doing? And Phong says I like watching TV

- Check comprehension

- Play the recording more than one

- Ps listen and repeat, Do choral and individual

repetition, poiting to the charactera speaking

a Vocabulary:- Teach words and phrases :

swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, playing

chess.

b Model sentences:

- Concept check: intonation, using

c Practice:

- Tell Ps they are going to practise asking and

answering questions about what someone like doing

-Have them look at the bubbles to understand how

to ask and answer questions about things someone

likes doing Ask ps to look at the pictures to identify

what Tony likes doing in each picture

- Point to the first picture and model the task with

one ps, using the expressions in the bubbles and the

word under the picture

P: I like swimming

2 Point and say.

Teach words and phrases :

swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, playing chess.

Model sentences:

- Ask Ps to say question and the answer chorally and

individually Repeat the same procedure with the

rest of the pictures

- Ask Ps to practise in pairs , using the prompts in

the bubbles and the words and phrasea under the

pictures Monitor the activity and offer help, if

necessary.z

- Tell Ps that they are going to listen three

dialogues about hobbies and tick the

correct pictures

- Ps look at the pictures to identify the

characters’ hobbies

- Check comprehension

b While-listening:

- Play the recording more than once

- ps to listen and tick the correct pictures

- ps swap their answers before you check

as a class

c Post listening:

- Role-play

a Pre- writing:

- Ask Ps to look at pictures and ask:

How many pictures are there? What is she/

he doing ? How many sentences are

there?

- Tell Ps that they are going to complete

the sentences relating to the characters’

hobbies

- Give them a few seconds to look at the

pictures First, focus Ps on the pictures to

identify what they like doing

- Ask ps to read the incomplete sentences

and find the appropriate words to complete

- Have them read each line of the lyrics

- Play the recording all the way through

Ask ss to do choral and individual

repetition of the song line by line until they

get familiarized with the pronunciation, the

stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song

- Play the recording again and get Ps to

sing along with the recording

- Divide the class into two groupss, one

sings the song and the other do t.he

actions

about her hobbies, b: Tony says that his

hobby is playing the guitar, c: Mai says

her hobby is singing and they all go to
