UNIT 6: WHERE’S YOUR SCHOOL?

LESSON 3 (4 - 6)

A AIMS

- Ss will be able to know how to make and write school’s information of a card

about themselves

- Develop Ss reading, writing skills

* Language focus:

- Vocabulary: revision

B TEACHING AIDS

overhead, laptop, loudspeaker, poster

C PROCEDURE

I WARM - UP

1 Recite the chant: School, school, school

2 Answer the questions:

1.What’s your name?

2 How old are you?

3 What nationality are you?

4 What’s the name of your school?

5 Where is it?

II NEW LESSON

1 Read and complete

- Have pupils turn their books to Page 45

- Tell pupils that they are going to read Mai’s student card to get the information

- Pupils read the passage individually

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary

- Ask sts to act out Mai to answer the following questions:

1 What’s your name?

2 What nationality are you?

3 What’s the name of your school?

4 Where is it?

- After answering the questions, have sts look at the card and the passage to complete the information

- sts do the task

- Get the answer from sts

- Give feedback

2 Write about yourself

II NEW LESSON

1 Look, listen and repeat:

• Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 46

- Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures

- Explain the meaning of the language practised

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books

- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles

- Repeat the steps a few times

- Some Ss role play and the others comment

- Ask Ss to role play

- Ask Ss to role play before the class

- Elicit the model sentences:

- What do you like doing?

+ I like reading.

2 Point and say:

- Play the CD for sts listen through the activities given

- Sts listen, point and repeat

- Explain the pattern:

- What do you like doing?

+ I like V(ing).

- Ask pupils to point and say about the activities by asking and answering Qs about them

C PROCEDURE

I WARM-UP Slap the board

II NEW LESSON

1 Listen and tick

- Have pupils look the pictures with the activities in each number

- Get sts say aloud

- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct activities

- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and choose the correct answers

- Compare the answers with the partner

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers

- T gives the answer:

- Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text

* Answer: 1- b ; 2 - c ; 3- a

2 Look and write

- Have pupils look at the schools’ activities

- Ask pupils what they do this part

- Tell them that they are going to complete the sentences

- Have pupils work in pairs to complete the sentences by looking at the information in the pictures to fill in the blanks

- Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals

- Group work Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups

- Monitor the activity and help them when necessary Correct pronunciation Ss’ errors

- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm
