3 LET’S CHANT (P1)

Objectives :

- At the end of the lesson Ss will be able to know how to pronounce the sound /s/ and /sw/

- Skills: listening, reading

- Attitude: Ss will be aware of emphasizing into the initial consonants

- Student’s book, recording, fresh cards, posters, puppets

IV/ Procedures:

A Warm up and Review (5’): Slap the board

- Involve Ss in the game

- Show the words cards and run through them

- Say out the rule and ask Ss to play

- Listen and give them points

- Link to the new lesson

B.

New lesson:

1.Listen and repeat(10’):

- Ask about the colored letters

- Write and introduce the sound: /s/ and /sw/

- Produce the sounds s and sw in a few times Ask Ss

to repeat in a few times

- Teach these words in the sentence

- Say: Look part 1 and play CD to 2 times

- Say: Play CD and ask to repeat 2 times

- Call a model student

- Give time for group work to do and practice

- Have pupils look at sentences on page 34 of the

-Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the

intonation of the chant

- Plays the recording and asks Ss to repeat the chant

- Plays the recording once more for Ss to repeat whole

the chant

- Calls some Ss to read the chant in front of class
