- show the first picture on p.10 and ask:

What are they doing?

How do they say to each other?

- Ask Ss to list the ways that Vietnamese people use to greet each other

1 How to greet people

- Ask ss to listen to the tape to recognise the words used to greet people in English

* Note: Hello Hi ( falling tone)

- tell the difference between hello and hi

* Concept check:

- get Ss to say hello/ hi to their classmates.

- check in public

2 Introduce oneself

- T says: “ C« tªn lµ HiÒn”, and ask ss :

“What am I doing?”

- Ask Ss to listen to the tape for the first time, then repeat

- draw four faces of Lan, Ba, Nga, Nam on the board and ask Ss to play the roles of them and introduce their names

- elicit the model sentences and write on the board:

- Have Ss talk in pairs, then check some pais and give them marks

2 Set the sence

- Draw two faces on the board

- Ask Ss to guess what they are talking/ saying

- Ask Ss to listen to the tape for the first time to know what they are saying For the second time, ask Ss to repeat

3 Structure

- elicit the model sentence by asking Ss some questions:
