EXPLANATION THE METHOD STATEMENT

PROJECT : NGHI SON REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICAL

LOCATION: NGHI SON - THANH HOA

I Method Statement:

A Principles:

- Assembly steel structure of this project is based on the general instructions

- Make the agreement with other partners before assembly

- Assembly works follow to erection plan drawings

B Assembly Method:

1 Receiving materials:

- The materials is produced at Vinaconex EC company, then be pack and load to the truck It’s ready to be transport to site by road way

- Before the materials can get into the site, they have to be checked by tender, inspector or consultancy

- Then materials will be store at contractor’s yard (remark 6 on drawing)

 Materials place 10cm higher than ground floor level at least and at dry areas

 Easy to use is the priority to place material

Safety in reload material:

 Safety in reload material process: crane driver must have the specific license for reload the material During that, the reload work area have to be in restrict, fence and warning sign have to be place around the area

 Storing material principle: The material have to be organized that easy to be used for erection Columns go first then following bracers, rafters , purlins

 Materials will be store at Contractor’s yard in good condition

2 Assembly & Stock yard:

Vinaconex EC gives the erection plan following :

Size: 60 x 96 = 5760 (m2)

 All workers will be equipped in safe condition and follow the Vinaconex EC site regulation

 All workers who work at high level must be test for health

 The used cranes must have some certificates to work

 209 Standard will be applied for inspection works

 The inspection works of repairing painting, tightness of linking bolts must be done before assembly works

a) Erection Plan:

Erection Plan will follow the erection plan drawing

 Installation Column, Bracer, Beam

 Installation Rafter

 Installation Purlin

 Installation Roof Sheet and Wall Sheet

 Finishing works

b) Erection:

Equipments:

- 02 Kato Cranes for installation

- Using scaffolds for installation

Erection Process:

 Step1: Column installation:

- Crane hoists the columns to the right position; it’s ready to be anchored by bolts

- Connect temperately bolts to settle the columns

- Adjust the columns to the right centre point

- Tightening the anchor bolts

- Using temperately bracer to keep the columns

- After all works, using the scaffolds for workers remove the crane out of the columns

 Step 2: Bracer and beam installation:

- Bracers and beams are parallel installing to column

- Crane hoists the bracers and beams to the right position

- Connect temperately bolts to settle the bracers and beams

- Adjust the bracers and beams to the right centre point

- Tightening the connect bolts

- Using temperately bracer to keep the bracers and beams

- After all works, using the scaffolds for workers remove the crane out of the bracers and

beams

Safety in columns, bracers and beams installation process:

 During thecolumns installation, workers have to wear all of safety equipments

 Standing under crane is forbidden

 Step 3: Rafter Installation:

- After installation for column, bracer and beam, we start to move rafter to the right position

to let it ready to be erect

- All kind for rafter parts will be connected to make the full rafter on land before the crane hoists them for installation

 Erection at axis 2

Installation process:

- Using 02 cranes for rafter erection

- 02 crane will install rafters from A to E

- Hoist rafter to the connecting position

- Temperately settle rafter

- Adjust the rafter for correct position

- Tightening the bolts

- Checking the good condition at connecting point

- After rafter erection, install purlin system to settle the all frames

Safety in rafter installation:

All of the workers do the erection at high level have to wear safety equipments

Standing under crane is forbidden

 Erection the remaining axis

Installation process:

After rafter axis 2 is installed, the erection the remaining axis starts

- Using 02 cranes for rafter erection each axis

- Hoist rafter to the connecting position

- Temperately settle rafter

- Adjust the rafter for correct position

- Tightening the bolts

- Checking the good condition at connecting point

- Two rafters are erected to complete, next purlins will install

Continue the process until the axis 9

Safety in rafter installation:

All of the workers do the erection at high level have to wear safety equipments Standing under crane is forbidden

 Step 4: Purlin Installation:

Installation process:

- Purlins are installed the after installation rafter axis 3

- New purlins are put on roof and connected with old purlins by screw

- Purlins is installed the first full bay

- The next bay is installed more 50 percent

 Step 5: Roof sheet and wall sheet Installation:

Finishing Work

- After installation completed, VINACONEX EC check and take over,

tighten one more time connection of columns, roof purlins, purlin

bracing, and accessory

- Check and solve the erection defects and errors, if any; repaint some

point if needed and invite inspector to check steel structure before

move on roofing

Installation

- Roof panel will roll on the ground, then crane will lift on the roof for installing

- Making the roof panel with full length of one side roof

- By this way, VINACONEX EC commits the best solution for water roofing.

- Cleaning up the roof and finish work for steel structure part

- Wall panels will rolled on the direct ground

II Method of safety, fire protection, hygiene and environment protection

- During the erection process, VINACONEX EC requires workers, engineers, inspectors and all people at site have to meet site general regulation

- Ensure the safety of staff and employees and technical supervision involved the

construction site

- The occupational safety applied TCVN 5308-91 "Technical Rules for safety in construction"

- Scope of application:

 Applies to all officials and employees of the construction, VINACONEX EC when

engaged in the field

 Guiding people to participate in construction of the parties involved plus with

VINACONEX EC Company to ensure safety for everyone

- Notes management measures to ensure the safety of employees:

- All workers in the technical school to learn about workplace safety

- Employees as pregnant women, children younger than 9 months of age,

people with the disease (heart attack, deaf ears, eyes less ) in the process

of construction are forbidden

- Absolute Prohibition workers not drink beer while working

- Buy insurance for employees

- To appoint officers in charge of labor safety supervision of occupational safety at the site
