By the end of the lesson, SS can greet friends or others by time of day

II/ Preparations.

Textbook, pictures, tape, cassette, chalk.

III/ Procedures

1/ WARM - UP (5’).

- The enlarged pictures are ticked on the board, and ask

ss to look at the clock

- Have SS guess the time in a day

2/ PRESENTATION (15’).

* Activity 1.

- Base on the students’ answers and the pictures to

introduce new words: good morning, good afternoon,

good evening, good night, goodbye

- Let ss play game: “Rub out and remember”

- Introduce grammar: - The simple present tense of

“TOBE”

* Activity 2

- Play the tape for the students B1/p14

3/ PRACTICE (17’).

* Activity 1.

- Have SS practice with a partner B2/15

* Activity 2.

- Stick the picture B3 on the table Then ask SS some

questions

Who are in the picture?

What is the teacher doing?

How do the students answer?

- SS look at the pictures and say the time

and the contractions

1/ WARM - UP (5’).

- SS answer T’s question “How are you?”

- SS find the words which go with the word “good”

- Present new words

- Have ss read in chorus

- Call ss to read individually

* Activity 2.

- Play the tape C1/ P17 for the students to listen

- Have SS pay attention to the ending of the sounds
