- Gives Ss a general idea of the English 9 book
- Helps Ss to learn this subject easier
II PROCEDURES:
1 Warm up:
- Introduce one: names, ages, addresses
2 Today’s lesson:
* Make friend:
- Introduces myself
- Greeting to Ss
* Introduce the book:
- Introducing the structure of the book English 9
- Introducing 5 themes of English 9 with 10 units in it
- Guiding the way to learn
- Reminding them always have the exercise book when go to school
III HOMEWORK:
- Get Ss to do as the teacher’s instruction
- Prepare Unit 1: Getting started + Listen and read for the next period

- Ss can listen and understand the paragraph
- Ss can catch again the simple part tense

III PROCEDURES:
1 Warm up: Sing an English song
2 Presentation:
a) Getting started:
- T introduces about the title of Unit, say about some activities which we can establish for friends when they visit our countries, cities
- Asks Ss: + Have you ever made friend by writing a letter?
+ Do you have pen pals?
+ Do you have any friends abroad?
- T explains: + pen pal (n)
- T: “now let’s imagine you have a foreign pen pal who is coming to visit you for the first time What activities would you do during the visit?
- Ss look at the pictures in the book about country and Vietnamese people
- Calls some Ss to demonstrate
b) Listen and read:
- T explains the title of exercise Asks Ss to listen, Ss write where Maryam wanted to go
- Some Ss ask on board
- T explains: + Mosque (n)
- Ss listen from the CD player, calls some Ss read
- T says again: “ used to” mean usually or often do st in the past and no longer now
* Eg: Lan used to walk part the mosque on her way to primary school
- Asks some Ss answer:
