Unit 7: Mass Media Teaching point: Reading

Aims: at the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Understand the reading.

- Guess the meaning of new words in context.

- Improve reading skills.

- Choose appropriate programs that are useful for studying development.

Skills: speaking, reading, writing, listening

Approach: Grammar Translation Method (GTM) & Communicative Language Teaching

(CLT)

Teaching aids: hand-out, projector, textbook, board, chalk….

Procedure:

- Greeting & checking attendance

- Today’s lesson:

-teacher asks Students

some questions in order

to lead-in the lesson

-teacher uses

questioning strategies to

call Ss answer the

questions

-teacher gives feedback

to Ss

-teacher shows some

pictures and ask Ss what

pictures are about

1. Warm-up(5’)

2.what kinds of TV programs do you prefer?
