WEEK 15 - Period 29

Unit 7: Lesson 1: Tt ( Part 1)

I Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to:

- Recognize and pronounce the letter Tt and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Tt words

- Write the letter Tt

- Skill: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing

II Language focus:

Vocabulary: tree, tent, tiger

Sight words: a, under, help

III Resources:

- Student’s book, CD, phonics cards ,card stock paper

IV.Organization:

V Procedures:

A.Warm-up 5’

* Activity: Beanbag Circle

- Put up the phonics cards from the previous

unit into the beanbag(Ss)

- T explains how to play this game

- T lets Ss play togtether

- T monitors

B Presentation:

1.Listen, point and repeat Colour (Track

34):10’

- Introduction of letter T, its sound and how

to pronounce the words beginning with Ss

- Use a card with letter Tt (or write on board

the letter Tt) to introduce to the students the

-Play together

new lesson.

- Instruct students how to pronounce the

letter name and the letter sound by saying:

“This is the letter T / / The letter T says / /.”

- Repeat several times and check students’

pronunciation (letter T/ / and its sound / /)

- Use the phonics cards with tree, tent, and

tiger, read the words out loud and have

students repeat

- Use gestures to help students to understand

the meanings of the three words

- Stick the cards on board and have students

repeat the words chorally several times (in

the correct order and then in any order)

- Call some students to say the words out

loud and correct their mistakes (if any)

- Ask the students to colour in the letters

*Activity: Which One Is Missing? 7’

- Put the phonics cards face up on the

table/stick them on the board

- Give the students a minute to look at the

cards

- Have students close their eyes and then you

take away one cards

- Tell the students to open their eyes and

name the missing cards

* Production 7’

Activity 1: Hot Cards

- Have the students sit down

- Hand out the phonics card from the

previous unit

- Play the chant

- While the song is playing, the students pass

the phonics card around

Stop the song, the student holding the

phonics card must say that word

Unit 7: Lesson 1: Tt (Part 2)

I Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to practise the sound of the letter

Tt and the coresponding words

- To learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

- Skill: listening, speaking ,reading , writing

II Language focus:

Vocabulary: tree, tent, tiger

Sight words: a, is, under, there

III Resources:

- Student’s book, CD, phonics cards ,card stock paper

IV.Organization:

V Procedures:

A Warm up : 5’

- Ask ss to name the letter and say the

sound of letter

- Put up the card on board T calls the letter

and ask Ss to mine the action and say the

sound

B Presentation:

1.Listen and point Colour (Track 41)10’

- Point to the tree and say: A tree!

- Have students listen and repeat

- Have students look at the book and listen

to the words: a tree, a tent, a tiger

- Have students listen and repeat the words

for several times

- Have the students to point to the

corresponding item in the picture

- Repeat with the rest of the items in

- Ask the students to look at the pair of

pictures on the side

- Choose the correct one for each

corresponding item in the picture

- Ask the students to colour the pictures

3 Chant and show! (Track 42) 9’

- Use the phonics cards on the board and

have students sing the chant with tree Do

the same with tent and tiger.

- The whole class sings the whole chant

- Do the chant again without the CD this

time, keep the rhythm by clapping your

hands or snapping your fingers

- Give feedback

* Pactise:

Activity : Write the words 9’

- Ss write the words they’ve learnt in the

lesson

- Calls some Ss go to the board and write

down

- T monitors and correct their mistakes

C.Consolidation:1’

- T asks whole class to sing the song at

home
