Period 33 SHORT STORY

I/ Objectives.

By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: Review the phonics, vocabulary and sentence

patterns from units 1 - 5

- Develop Ss speaking, listening and reading skills

- Attitude: Ss will be aware of using the knowlegde to do the exercise

II Teaching aids:

- Record, cassette, plan, teacher’s book, students’ book and workbook

III Teaching method:

Work in pairs and work in groups

- Communicative approach

V New Lesson:

Act 1: Warm up: Matching

- Asks Ss to open their book

- Involve Ss in the game and say out the rule

- Call a Student to go to the bb and give some

suggestions for the whole class guessing

- Listen and monitor the game

- Check the meaning of these words

Act 2: Read and Listen to the story

This is the first of the four cartoons about Miu and Cat

and Chit and Mouse

- To help Ps get the idea of the story, simply let them

read and listen to this episodes, the initial task will be

more challenging

- Ask Ss to read carefully and T corrects their mistakes

-Ask students to read the story in the book and fill the

suitable words to complete the dialogue Work in pairs

to do the exercise then practice in pairs in front of the

whole class

Lesson 1: ( 1-2-3)

By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: give and respond to instructions.

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills

- Attitude: Ss will use the structure to follow T’s instruction in real class

- Record, cassette, plan, teacher’s book, students’ book and workbook

Work in pairs and work in groups

- Communicative approach

- T shows the cards on the board and run through them

- Ask Ss to play in 2 groups and say out the rules

- Let Ss to come to the board and rewrite

-Ask Ss to identify the characters in the picture on page

40 and what they are saying

-Set the scene

-Ss give and respond to instructions

-Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape

-Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to

reinforce their pronunciation And do the same with the

dialogue between Linda and Mai
