Unit 9 AT HOME AND AWAY.

Lesson 4 B1- 2.

I.Objectives: At the end of this period, Ss will be able to describe the

characteristics of friends or neighbors and practise the past simple tense

1 Knowledge.

* Vocabulary: hairdresser, dressmaker, clever, material, neighbors.

* Grammar: Simple past tense, compliment (review)

2 Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each

other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo.

2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III METHOD: Transformation, Answering, Chatting.

IV PROCEDURE.

1 Organization(1’).

2 Checking the old lesson(5’)

- T asks some Ss to write the new words on the board

- T corrects the mistakes and gives marks

3 New lesson(35’).

I.Warm up(5’): Transformation.

- Ask ss to change the verbs in the present into

the past

- Get feedback

II Presentation(15’).

1 Vocabulary(5’).

- Draw the circles on the board

- Have Ss retell the new words

- Ask Ss to repeat the words in chorus

- Ask Ss to go to the board and write the words in

their correct circles

3 Presentation dialogue(5’).

- Set the scene: Hoa and Lan are talking about

Lan’s new things

- Have Ss listen to the tape

- Have Ss practice

Eg:

Did Hoa buy the dress? - > No, she didn’t.

Did her aunt cut her hair? - > Yes, she did.

Form: Did + S + V …?

-> Yes, S + did / No, S + didn’t( did not )

*Checking understanding: meaning, use, form,

pronunciation

III Practice(10’): Answering.

- Run through the questions

- Ask Ss to read the dialogue again to answer

the questions

- Have Ss compare
