The development of technology has influenced the ways people interact with each other What are the main changes in the types of interactions people have?
Do you think this is positive or negative?
It is undoubted that in recent decades technology has revolutionized, leading to several changes in the ways people use to communicate with others In my opinion, these changes are both advantageous and disadvantageous
It is apparent that technology has digitally altered the traditional interpersonal communication methods For example, instead of hanging out with friends and relatives at weekends, individuals are likely to utilize some social network platforms such as Facebook and Google Plus
to keep in touch with their loved one These people post pictures, update their status and commend in their friends’ posts pretendingthat they still interact with these people Besides, thanks to the development of advanced technology, we now can harness devices to make phone calls or even video calls regardless of the distance Because of this, some outdated communicating methods like writing letters are likely to be forgotten as it wastes a significant amount of time
I am of the opinion that the changes mentioned above could be both positive and negative On the one hand, people now can easily keep in contact with their loved ones who stay far from them For instance, an overseas student can make video calls to his parents at home, this deters him from homesickness and may bring him courage to keep learning in university On other hand, too depending on modern technology can be harmful in terms of damaging real relationships If people keep being online and commending on others’ postsrather than having
a real conversation, the relationships between human beings may be certainly lost
In conclusion, the improvement of technological devices and machines bring a majority of changes in the ways we interact with others, and it seems to me that these alterations have both up and down sides
