A Aim: To present the content of the lesson “A first-aid course”.

B Objective: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to know how to solve the

1 Getting started

- T hangs the picture on the board and asks

+ Who are they? a patient & a nurse

+ Where are they? ( In hospital.)

+ What is it? ( It’s a bandage) ( It’s a cotton ball) (It’s a water pack)

(It’s a bottle of alcohol)

- T explains the new words

 What are these things used for?(first aid)

 Now you work with a partner to find out what would you do in following situations

a A girl has a burn or her arm

b A boy has a bad cut on his leg

c A girl has a nose bleed

d A boy has a bee sting

- Ss work in pairs

a I’ll cool the burn immediately with cold water then take her to the hospital

b I’ll try to stop the bleeding by using a handkerchief and then take her to the nearest hospital

Set the scene : There is a student hurt and she needs helping, before listening to the tape,

+ Will the ambulance come there?

b) Activity 1 :

- Ss listen to the tape and check their prediction

- Ss listen & read the dialogue to give the correct answer

- to overheat = to make sth too hot : làm quá nóng

T prepares 4 cardboards; each consists of 1 question and 1 answer written in cues
