Aims : Through teaching speaking to talk about school life

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils are able to talk about their school life and

actively engage in an interview

Skills: Development for Speaking skill and three integrated skills : Listening,

Reading and Writing

Lexical items :

Teaching aids : Handouts, cassette, textbook, flipcharts

PROCEDURE I/ WARM-UP : ( 5 min )

* Game : Networks

( Make a list of words relating to "School" )

Lead-in:

 Ss are asked to answer the questions about their work at school

1 What is your timetable?

2 What are your subjects? Which do you like best? Why?

3 What about homework?

4 What do you like best about your school?

II/ PRE- SPEAKING : ( 10 min )

3 Task 1 : Choose a suitable question for each situation of the following interview

III/ WHILE- SPEAKING : ( 18 min )

Activity 1 : Practise asking and answering follow the interview

-T introduces the requirement of the task

-T asks Ss to do the task in pairs Teacher walks around the class and offers help when necessary

-I went to Long Bien Lower- Secondary School in Gia Lam, Ha Noi

- My subjects were Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Literature,

Biology, History, Geography, English, and Information Technology

-Well, I went to school in the morning and I often had five classes

-We had different kinds of tests, you know Oral tests, Fifteen-minute tests, Forty-five-minute tests and the final examination at the end of the semester

- It’s different with every teachers Some liked to give a lot

of homework and others didn’t

- To be honest, I liked my school a lot but if I could change one thing, it would be the breaks between the classes They were to short

- I liked everything in my school, you know Well of course, not the breaks as I‘ve said I liked my teachers, my friends and different activities at school then

Activity 2 : Use the questions of " Task 1 " to interview your partner.

Activity 3: Tell the whole class what you know about your partner

III/ POST- SPEAKING : ( 8 min )

Student: 2 He said he studied at Huong Thuy High School " I like Maths most "

Student: 3 He said he liked Maths most " I have five classes a week "

Student: 4 He said he had five classes a week " I don't go to school by bus "

Student: 1 He said he didn't go to school by bus
