Task 1:
I The present progressive tense with “always”:
Have Ss look at the picture and answer the question:
What is Nam doing ?Then introduce the structure
Nam/watch TV.
Teacher gives his mother’s complaint: “You are always
watching TV”
Nam is always watching TV
From: subject+ am/ is /are+ always+ V-ing
Uses:
-Always can be used with the present progressive to
describe continually-repeated actions
- to express a complaint
Practice:
- Have Ss do exercise 3/120 Look at the pictures Write
the sentences Say what the people are always doing

Task 3:The past progressive tense :
Ex: Nam was watching TV at 8 o’clock last night
Form:
Subject+ was /were + V-ing
Uses:
-To indicate an action that was in progress at a point
of time in the past
- An action was taking place in the past when
another action took place.
• When + short action (Past Simple)
• While + long action (Past Continuous)
- The present progressive tense
