Teacher’s activities

1 Warm up: Getting started.

*Play game.

-Write the topic on the board: Places of interest

- PUT the chart with jumbled words on the board

- Ask each team to correct the words to make the right

phrases for places of interest and write them on the

board as fast as possible

- Have students work in pairs match the name with the

pictures

2 Presentation:

-Have students listen to the dialogue

- Have students read the dialogue again and give out

some new words

-Explain new words

pagoda.

Tim: Thanks, Dad Perhaps we can get some food at the

restaurant and eat it beside the wriver.

Mrs Joes: As you are going in the direction of the bus

station, can you book seats on tomorrow’s bus to Ho Chi

Minh city? The bus station is just opposite the tourist

information center

Tim: All right

Mrs Joes: I’ll see you back at the hotel

Tim: How are you going to get to the pagoda, Mom?

Mrs Joes: I’m going to walk over the bridge and take the

first road on the left If I have time, I’ll also visit an old

temple, which is just past the pagoda on the same road.

1 Warm up:

- Which word?

- Put the missing words in a box on the board and have

students study first

- Show the chart and ask Ss to fill in the gaps with the

words given on the box

* A narrative is a sequence of ……….these events are

usually………… in chronological order and often lead to

a ……… The first sentence of a narrative should get

the read’ shift ……… and the ending should be

……… ./

- Explain the definition in Vietnam

2 Pre-Writing:

- Have Ss look at the pictures and guess the meaning of

the new words

- Write the vocabulary on the board and ask Ss to match

them
