Join the pipe, cool down under pressure

6.4 Underground pipe installation (Drainage piping):

- Before commencement of any installation work, ensure that materials to be used had been inspected

- Excavation shall be carried out, as may deemed to be necessary for the construction of the work and dewatering pump may be required which subject to site condition

- Prepare setting out of main / branch drains based on approved shop drawings

- Excavate the required trench for the main / branch drain as per setting out

- Excavation for trench shall be of straight line and provide gradient for the pipes and beds

- Shoring shall be provided for unstable earth condition, (if necessary)

- Check the excavated depth progressively until the required invert level is achieved

- Treat the excavated layout trench with sand layer is compacted

- Proceed to pipe laying as per proposed invert level Level instrument is use to check the invert level

- The socket end of pipe is to be placed facing the upward stream of the gradient and shall be secured with rebar and engineering brick

- Ensure both ends of pipe are provided with 200mm clearance, for the end pipe entering to the Sump/

MH rebar internal wall and before the form work close-up to Sump / MH

- Upon curing of the concrete haunch pipe, remove all formworks and any unwanted materials out of the trench including any strutting supports Trench is then backfilled with selected excavated sand The sandlayer is compacted up to 200 mm and the soil layer is backfilled & compacted progressively until to the finish level
