The NB Probe could help you to monitor the status of your computer, including below function:

You could start this utility by the following steps:

Start - All Programs - ASUS utility - NB probe

Vista (32bit) Hidden Partition SOP

1 Unzip BT.zip file, and copy BT.exe utility to a bootable USB dongle

2 Boot up to DOS mode with the dongle

3 Type the command in DOS prompt à bt /w 27 XX

Where XX is Vista SKU code, please refer to the following table

to choose the code based on the Vista version you intend to install.

4 Then finally update the system with latest BIOS.

Insert the correct model Driver CD of the targeted NB, under C:\xxx enter

pqa.bat , and this will create a driver.pqa file to the folder C:\xxx.

NOTE: ODD drive must be set as “e:\”, if not please configure it in

control panel other wise error will be expected.

After formatting, take out Tool CD and put Vista RCD in , and copy

ASUS.SWM and ASUS2.SWM files to “ S:\ ” ( hidden drive )

Step7:

Remove Vista RCD, copy driver.pqa (either from external HDD or disc

containing the driver.pqa ) file into C:\fac directory

Step8:

Under the directory of C:\fac , create a file of “ os.tag ” by the following

command.

Enter copy con os.tag , press Enter twice then press “ Ctrl + Z ”

Then press Enter to complete.

Step9:

Please press “ Exit ” to reboot the system and start to install the OS

Step10:

When screen show “ Pass ”, it is finished

Press power button to shut down your system.

Finger Print Reader

Most of the fingerprint readers on NB are swipe-type However…

A too small sensor size will generate issues: finger positioning and generate higher FRR

- The system mistakes to authenticate by wrong fingerprint (High FRR)

- User has to carefully center the finger on the sensor

- Big fingers must always be swiped on the center.
