ASUS G50V Notebook consists of various modules This chapter describes the procedures

for the complete notebook disassembly In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly procedure of individual modules will be provided for your service needs

The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps:

Remove battery module

Open Latch 1 and hold the latch 2 when take the battery away

Remove CPU module

1.Remove 12 screws (M2.5*4, M2.5*7, M2.5*8) on CPU cover and remove the CPU cover

2 Remove 1 piece of tape and 6 screws (M2*4) on thermal module Disconnect the fan cable Then take the thermal module away

3 Turn the non-removable screw here 180 degrees counter-clockwise to loosen the CPU Squeeze the vacuum handling pump on the CPU and use it to lift the CPU away

Remove VGA module

1 Remove 2 screws (M2*7) on VGA heat sink and then take the heat sink away

2 Remove 2 screws (M2*4) on card and pull out the card from its slot

Pull two latches here to pop the Memory module up at 45 degrees angles, and then pull out the module at that angle

Remove Keyboard Cable

1 Use a flexible connector tool to unlock the cable connector on both ends (No 1)

2 Carefully pull out the keyboard cable (No.2) with a pair of tweezers

3 Lock the connector (No.3) again to avoid possible breakage

8 Remove 16 screws (M2*3, M2.5*7) on bottom case and tear of one piece of tape fixing the USB PCB cable

Motherboard Module Assembly

1 Install IO bracket on motherboard and then secure 2 screws on it

2 Install the modem board and secure 2 screws (M2*2) Connect the cable with the motherboard

3 Install the turbo memory and secure 2 screws (M2*4)

4 Install the motherboard on bottom case and secure 2 screws (M2.5*4) to fix the motherboard Pay attention to the wireless switch, please engage it well with the bottom case

5 Install the FLY PCD cable and fix 1 screw Connect it with the motherboard Arrange the cable in the bottom case as the picture shows

6 Connect the USB PCB cable with the motherboard Then install the IO board in the bottom case Connect the other side of the USB PCB cable with the IO board Secure

7 Connect the Bluetooth cable Paste the Bluetooth module on bottom case using double-sided adhesive and connect its cable with motherboard Then fix one piece of tape

1 Connect the FPC with the button board and install it on motherboard Secure 2 screws (M2*3)

2 Place the light board on the top case and secure 2 screws (M2*3) Then connect the FPC

6 Connect the OLED cable with OLED board Then install OLED board on the top case Secure 2 screws (M2*3) on it and fix 1 piece of tape

7 Paste the touch key board and press to fix it on the top case Then connect the FPC with it

11 Secure 2 screws (M2.5*7) on top case and connect the speaker cable, OLED cable, touch pad cable and touch FPC with motherboard Then paste 2 pieces of to fix the cables

1 Place the key board on the top case Connect the keyboard FPC and install the key board on the top case Then press the three sides of keyboard to fix it on the top case

1 Use the CPU vacuum to “suck up” the CPU Install the CPU and use a single-slotted screwdriver to fix it
