I OBJECTIVES:

- After the lesson, students can write a paragraph to describe a room in the house

II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, sub-board

III PROCEDURES:

1/ Warm-up: (7’) Network

- Ask Ss to write the prepositions of position

- Lead to the lesson

- Read the prepositions aloud

+ on the right / left + in the middle + next to + near + beneath + above

- Listen

2/ Pre-writing: (13’)

Activity 1:

- Give the new words

I New words :

1 wardrobe ( n ) : tủ quần áo

2 oven (n) : lò vi sóng

3 towel rack (n) : dẻ lau

4 counter (n) : bệ bếp

5 jar (n) : lọ

- Check new words: What and Where

Activity 2:

- Give the picture of the description of Hoa’ s

room

This is Hoa’s bedroom There is a desk (1) on

the left of the room On the desk there are

many folder and(2) above the desk there is a

bookshelf There is a bed (3) near the desk (4)

on the right side of the room, there is a

- Read, then copy down

- Do as directed

- Look at the picture and complete the passage about Hoa’s room ( close book) Prepositions of position

3/ While-writing: (15’)

- Hang the picture on the board

- Ask Ss to write the description about this

kitchen by using the cues given in the book in

four groups

- Say something about the position of these things in the picture

- Work in groups

4/ Post-writing: (8’)

- Call some groups to correct

This is Hoa’s kitchen There is a refrigerator in

the right corner of the room Next to the

refrigerator is the stove and oven On the other

side of the oven, there is a sink and next to the

sink is a towel rack

The dish rack is on the counter, on the right of

the window and beneath the shelves On the

shelves and on the counter beneath the

window, the are jars of sugar, flour and tea

In the middle of the kitchen, there is a table

and four chairs The lighting fixture is above

the table, and the lighting fixture is a vase of

flowers

- Give the answer on the board

- Have Ss:

+ Rewrite the paragraph at home

+ Prepare U3 : Language focus

- Write assignments

I OBJECTIVES:

- By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to practice “Reflexive pronouns, Modals, Why – Because”

- Ask Ss to match the words in column A with their
