- Vocabulary: Tet, mid-autumn Festival, Christmas, Children’s Day, Santa Claus, carol, lantern, mooncake, parade, present

Sentence patterns:

-What is Tet?

It’s a big festival in Vietnam.

-What are you going to do?

I’m going to join the School Lantern Parade.

Warm up

Ask pupils to guess four words related to food and

drink for Tet

1 LOOK, LISTEN AND REPEAT

- Teaching new words

- Have Ss open their book on page 30

- Tell pupils that they are going to listen and

repeat the dialogue between Mai and Linda

- Play the recording through for pupils to listen

- Play the recording again twice for Ps to repeat

each line

- Divide the class into 2 groups to practice

- Be able to practice talking the dialogue.

Lesson 2

I Objectives: Pupils will be able

- To pronounce correctly the sound of the letters t and the sound of the letters f.

- To listen and to read for specific information

II.Procedures

*Warm- up:

Ask pupils to write about the names of festivals

on the board

1.Listen and repeat:

- Ask Ss to look at the book on page 32.

- Draws Ss’ attention to the sound of the

letters t and f in Tet and festival.

- Tells them to listen and pronoun these

sound correctly

- Ask Ss to look at the chant.

- Model and repeat the forcus sounds a few

times

- Plays the recording again for Ss to repeat

in two times

- Let Ss repeat individually Asks some of

them to say the chant, paying p attention “t

and f”.

- Play the recording again for the whole

class to repeat each line to reinforce their

pronunciation

2.Listen and number:

- Have Ss open the book page 32, look at the

table and read the words

- Show them how to do the task

- Play the recording all the way through for

Tet festival
