LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED – LISTEN AND READ

I OBJECTIVE:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to get acquainted with “The

Media

II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, cassette, computer.

III PROCEDURES:

1 Warm up: (5’)

- Hang the pictures on the board and ask Ss to

match the activity with correct picture

- Lead to the lesson: The Media

- Look at the picture, and match

I Getting started:

+ watching TV + reading newspapers + listening to the radio + reading magazine + using the Internet

- Listen

2 Presentation: (15’)

- Use the pictures, real object to elicit the

vocabulary

Vocabulary:

1 crier (n): người đi rao tin (thời xưa)

2 benefit(n)=advantage(n)

3 channel (n): kênh

4 remote control (n): điều khiển từ xa

5 media (n): phương tiện truyền thông

6 interactive (adj) : tương tác

@ Activity 1:

- Ask Ss to listen and read the passage silently

and complete the table individual

- Have some Ss go to the board and complete the

table

@ Activity 2:

- Ask Ss to read the texts and answer the

questions in groups

- Have some pairs ask and answer before class

and then write on the board

* Key:
