* Practice reading:

PRONUNCIATION
- Models the two sounds /8/ and /5/ for a few times
- Explains the differences in producing of these sounds:
- Plays the tape once for Ss to hear the words and asks them to repeat
- Asks Ss to read the words in each column out loud in chorus for a few more times
- Calls on some Ss to read the words out loud
- Asks Ss to work in pairs and take turn to read aloud the given sentences
- Goes around listening and takes notes of the typical errors
- Calls on some Ss to read the sentences again
- Corrects the errors

tính chất bổ sung không cần thiết, có thể bỏ đi được

* Relative clause and adverb clause are put behind
the main noun.
E.g: Mexico City is the largest metropolitan area in the
world Mexico City has a population of nearly
20,000,000.
* Mexico City, which has a population of nearly
20,000,000, is the largest metropolitan area in the
world.
Exercise 2: Although
* Form: Although + clause, Main clause
* Example:
+ Although it rained, we went out for dinner instead of
having our dinner delivered.
* Meaning: in spite of the fact that.
* Use: We use this conjunction to contrast ideas.
* Note: Don’t use although together with “but”.

- Asks Ss to combine the example by using relative clause
- Gets Ss to do the exercise 1 individually and then find a partner to check their answers with
- Checks with the whole class and provides corrective feedback
- Asks Ss to read the example in the textbook
