Herbs are more than just garnishes — they’re full of
vitamins A and C and folate as well as phytochemicals,
and that’s why they have been used for medicinal
purposes for centuries Eating herbs may help prevent
or manage heart disease, cancer and diabetes Initial
findings suggest chives, mint, basil, oregano and sage
can help protect against cancer, while oregano and
thyme can help to reduce ‘bad’ cholesterol Full of
antioxidants, herbs also add a flavour punch to dishes,
so instead of adding salt, try herbs Soft-leafed herbs
such as parsley and dill are delicate, so they’re best added
at the end of the cooking process Harder herbs, such as
thyme and rosemary, can be added at the beginning
