SECTION A : A check-up

Period 73 Lesson 1: A1,2

I) Aims :

- Help students to improve their listening, reading and speaking skills.

- Have a further practice in present /past simple tense and the structure “Would you + V…?”.

and make questions about one’s height or weight

II) Objectives:

 By the end of the lesson, students will :

 have learnt how to read and fill out a medical form

 have been able to follow / respond to doctor’s instruction during a check-up

 have practiced the structure “Would you + Verb” in correct way

 have talked about one’s height, weight

III) Time : 45’

IV) Language contents:

1.Vocabulary: Have a medical check-up, medical record, take one’s temperature, measure, scales, height

2.Grammar : present / past simple tense + Would you + Verb…?

V) Techniques: Discussion, individual – group – pair work, fill in the blanks.

VI) Teaching aids: Textbook, posters, cassette, tape, black board, chalk, papers.

VII) Procedures:

- Have the students read the dialogue in

silence then ask them do exercise A1.

-Play tape + ask the students to listen

then compare the answers with their

partners

- Call some pairs to check + correct their

answers

III/ Practice:

- Students repeat chorally and remember all the English words

- Call and repeat loudly the English words

Grammar :

- Students remember the tenses : present/

past simple tense

- Work individually then in pairs

-Try to read for necessary information then number the sentences

- Write down the correct answers

- Let the students read the dialogue

-Ask them to work in group of 3or 4 to

discuss and give the predictions for the

missing words in the dialogue

-Call some groups to check their

predictions

- Play the tape and let the students listen +

check again their predictions

- Correct their predictions

IV Production :

*Grammar:

-Notice the new structures :

-Let the students work in pair to practice

this structure with these verbs (contents)

- And the way to ask about one’s height or

weight: How + adj + be +S ?

- Have some students stand up and make

the question with provided information

V Consolidation and Homework :

- Learn by heart the new words

- Read A1 P.107 and A2.P108 again

- Prepare: lesson 2( A3)

-Listen and read aloud

- Work in pairs

A2 Listen + predict :

-Work individually then work in groups

- Give the predictions for the missing words

-Write down the correct answers

-Listen to the teachers and engage in the activities

- Work in pairs

-Remember the usage and write down the structures
