I Objectives : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know more about

Na’s new neighbor

1 Warm up: * Getting started:

- Ask students to match the names of places with the suitable pictures

* Answers:

a Groccery store

b Stadium

c wet market

d drug store

e hairdresser’s

f swimming pool

- Ask for their meanings to make sure students know axactly what they mean

2.Pre - Reading:

1 Pre – teach vocabulary :

- close by (adv) ( explanation)

- to serve

- A pancake (translation)

- Tasty

* Checking vocabulary: What and where

pancake close by serve

- Ask students to repeat the words chorally, then rub out word by word but leave the circles

- Go on untill the circles are empty Get students to go to the blackbord and write the words in the correct circles

2 Pre – Questions:

- Set the scene: Nam and Na are talking about the place where they live But Na

is new there

- Give two questions and ask students to work in pairs to guess the answers

a How long has Nam lived in that neighborhood?

b Where does Na want to go?

- Ask students to listen and read silently the dialogue between Nam and Na then ask them if their answers are correct or not

a He has lived there for 10 years

b Na wants to go a restaurant

b Do you like it? Why? (people are friendly/ the environment is good/safe)

c Is there a restaurant/ post office/market/bank/shop is your neighborhood?

d How do you do to keep your neighborhood clean?

- Students write, teacher moves around the class and help students

- Ask students to complete their writing

- Show a letter and ask students some questions:

+ What is it? (a letter) + Where can I post it to my friend? ( at the post office) + How can I post it? ( Stick stamp on it)

- Introduce the new lesson

2 Presentation:

1 Pre teach – Vocabulary:

- Air – mail: (explanation)

- Surface mail:

- Charge (v)

* Checking vocabulary: Rub out and remember

2 Reading – Comprehension

- Set the scene: Mrs Kim wants to send a parcel to Quy Nhon, so she has to go

to the post office

- Give students some questions:

a Does Mrs Kim send the parcel air mail or surface mail? Why?

b What’s the weight of her parcel?

c How much does she play?

- Ask students to read the dialogue and find out the answers

- Get students to work in pairs to compare their answers

* Answers:

a Mrs Kim send the parcel surface mail because it is much cheaper

b Her parcel is five kilograms

c She pays 19,200 dongs

3 Practice:

- Call some students to ask and answer the questions

- Call on a student to play the role of Mrs Kim and practice the dialogue with teacher

- Call ao some pairs of students to practice the dialogue Teacher correct their pronunciation

Ask students to practice the dialogue in pairs

4 Further practice.

- Set the scene and ask students to make the dialogue

1 Mrs Lan wants to post a letter air mail

- Ask students to make the dialogue between Lan and the clerk in the post office

- Elicit and encourage students to make the dialogues themselves

- Get students to practice the dialogue in pairs

- Give other situations and ask students to make similar dialogues The box will help students know the price

- Divide class in to 3 groups, each prepares a dialogue

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a notice and

to use some adjectives to make omparisons

II Contents: - Vocabulary

- Structure:

III Teaching Aids: Text book,10 cards, dictionary

IV Anticipated problems:

V Proceduces:

1 Warm up: * Pelmanism

- Prepare ten cards with numbers on one side and 10 adjectives with their

opposites on the other

- Stick 10 cards on the board so students can only see the numbers

- Divide class into 2 teams and ask them to choose 2 numbers, turn the card over,

if they match

Eg: cheap – expensive, that team gets one mark The next team continous

Go all untill all the cards are turned over The team which has more marks will win the game

2 Presentation:

- Show students 3 books, a red book is the same as the yellow one

- The red book is as big as the yellow book

- The yellow book is different from the brown dictionary

- The yellow is not as/so big as the brown dictionary

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use Present

perfect tense

II Contents: - Vocabulary

1 Warm up: * Matching:

- Stick the poster of infiniteives and past participleson the blackboard

- Ask students to find 8 words about study in the word square

- Divide the class into two teams

- Get students from 2 teams to go to the board and write each pair of infinitives – past participle

Eg: be – been The team which writes more pairs wins the game

Be see collected go worked Lived do seen eat attended Write been written eaten work Atend done live collect gone

* Answers:

- Get students to repeat in chorus and remember the past participles of irregular verbs
