Pre-reading: (7 minutes)

* If verbs, adj , adv, prepositions if

vowel or double vowel or finishes by

one consonant the stress falls the first

syllable.

* For nouns in whichthe second

syllable have short vowel the stress

falls the first syllable(` money ) If the

second syllable which has long vowel

or double vowel the stress falls the

second syllable ( de sign’ )

- Ask students to read the words and

practise giving the correct stress
