Advantages

 Employers are familiar with it and can

easily find information;

 It highlights growth and career

progression; and

 It highlights employment continuity and

stability.

Some employers may suspect that the

candidates are trying to hide weaknesses in

 Keep your résumé honest

 Adapt your résumé to your audience

 Use a simple and direct style

Use short phrases instead of whole sentences.

 Avoid using the word ‘I’ Instead, start your

phrases with strong action verbs (achieved,

arranged, coordinated, joined, organized …)

• Created a campus organization for students

interested in entrepreneurship

 Whenever you can, quantify the results and give concrete proof so that your claims do not sound empty

E.g Weak statement:

o Responsible for developing a new filing system

Instead, write:

Purpose: highlight your strongest points

 Starting with the most recent, list name and

workshops
