I Aims:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Be updated with different kinds of modern mass media

- Improve reading comprehension skill through heading and other related exercises

II Procedure:

1 Warm up/ Revision: Guessing

1 It was invented in 1925 (television)

2 We can listen to the news but we can’t see it (radio)

3 It contains information and pictures (newspapers)

We use it to find information quickly, chat with friends and send email

(The internet)

- Explain the word Mass Media: What does the mass media included?

a Ask pupils to work in group and name the things in the pictures

- Call on some students to give the names in front of the class

- Suggested answer:

Likes and dislikes about Mass media

I Aims:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to express their likes and dislikes about different types

of mass media by using prompts such as: What do you think about ? How do you feel about ? What’s your opinion of ?

II Procedure:

- Which programs do you like most and why?

- Which programs do you think the worst and should not be shown on

TV?

- Ps discuss and answer according to their

knowledge

I Aims:

- Ps writes about advantages and disadvantages of Mass media

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write a paragraph about advantages and disadvantages of Mass media with the appropriate use of connector such as Further more, in addition, as a result

III Procedure:

Ask PS tell all the advantages and disadvantages of TVs

- Cheap in comparison with other means of communication

request, tell, urge, warn, promise…

* Negative: Not+ infinitive

" Don't swim out too far, boys", I said

→ I told/warned the boys not to swim out too far

* Suggest: Suggest/ insist V-ing/ that S should infinitive

C Questions in the indirect speech

1 Yes/ No questions:

- use the verbs : ask, wonder, want to know,

- use if/ whether

- change the interrogative form in the direct question into the affirmative in the

indirect one

- Change the tenses, pronouns, and adverbs if necessary

"Have you seen that film?", he asked me

He asked me if/ whether I had seen that film
