- Ss will be able to read for specific information about someone’s hobbies and sing the song about hobbies

- Develop Reading and writing skill

- Ask Ss to read the chant of task 1 – page

3.1 Pre – reading (5’)

- Ask Ss to open their book on page 33

- Tell them that they are going to read the

dialogue & complete the table

- Ask Ss to look at the table first & discuss

the information they need to fill in

3.2 While – reading (9’)

- Ss read the dialogue & do individually

- Ask Ss to exchange their answers with

their partners to discuss possible answers

- Ask Ss to report their answers to the class

3.3 Post – reading (7’)

- Make a few questions to check Ss’

comprehension of the dialogue

- Have the whole class read the dialogue in

chorus to reinforce their pronunciation

- Ss will be able to ask & answer question about someone’s hobbies

- Develop lisstening, speaking and reading skill

II Language focus:

- Vocab: music club

- Sentence patterns: What is your hobby?

III Teaching aids: CD, cassette, book, flash card.

IV Teaching methods:

- Communicative approach.

- Techniques:

- Ask and answer

- Work in pairs and individually

- Work in groups, discuss

- Ask Ss to sing the song on page 33

1 Listen and repeat (14’)

- Ask Ss to open their book on P 34 Tell

them that they are going to listen to the

recording and repeat the dialogue between

Nga, Nam and Quan

1 Listen and repeat.

- Give vocabulary before listen.

- Play the recording for Ss to listen as they

follow the dialogue

- Play the recording again, pausing after

each line for Ss to repeat

- Divide the class into 3 groups Ask the

groups to repeat Nga, Nam and Quan

- Play the recording again for the whole

class to repeat the dialogue Correct Ss’

pronunciation mistakes when necessary

- Elicit the model sentences

2 Look and say (15’)

- Ask Ss to look at pictures on P 34 Tell

them that they are going to practice asking

and answering the question “What is your

hobby?”

- Help Ss to say the words in each picture

-Teach the sentence pattern: What is your

hobby?

- Do the task with one S as a model

- Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice asking

and answering the question “What is your

hobby?” Monitor the activity, offer help

when necessary

- Call on some pairs of Ss to practice the

question in front of the class

- Work in pairs and individually

- Work in groups, discuss

- Use some pictures & ask Ss to say about

hobbies of them

3 Write

3.1 Pre – writing (7’)

- Ask Ss to open the book on Page 35

- Tell them that they are going to complete

write a simple paragraph about their

hobbies

- Tell Ss to read paragraph 1, then ask Ss to

go through the outline of paragraph 2

- Ask Ss some questions: (e.g Do you like

dancing?, What is your hobby?)

3.2 While – writing (8’)

- Get Ss to complete their own answers,

filling in the blank spaces with their own

information

- Ss work individually

- Call on some Ss to read out their answers

to the class

3.3 Post – writing (5’)

- Make somes questions to check Ss’

comprehension of the reading text

- Have the whole class read each line of the
