Unit 13: ACTIVITIES AND THE SEASONS

A1,2 - THE WEATHER AND SEASON

I Objectives:

-At the end of the lesson Ss will be able to talk and write the simple sentences about the weather, use the question ‘What’s the weather like ?’ to ask and answer about weather in all seasons

II.Preparation:

-A color picture of A1

`III Procedure:

1 Warm up:

a Check the old lesson.

- Call one student to read the text in C6

then answer the questions

b Warmer.

- Guide pupils to play a game named

"Guessing game":

Ex: I am hot

S1: Are you tired ?

S2: No, I am not

S3: Are you hot?

S2: Yes, I am

2 Presentation:

*Act 1: Present vocabularies:

- Use some method to introduce new

words

Ss: do as directed

-Read and ask Ss to listen one time

Ss : listen

- Explain some new words

Ss : listen and copy down – repeat

*Checking: R&R

- Guide Ss to do the exercise

- Call on 2 Ss to go to the board and

match

-Give feedback

*Act 2: Present the question and

answer about the weather:

- Read - Ss repeat

and crosses’

-Divide the class into two teams

-Hang a box with the words on the

board

-Ss: use the words in the box to build

the sentences as they could

-Ss : work in groups (one for each

season)

-Each group makes a poster

I Objectives:

-At the end of the lesson Ss will be able to ask and answer about one's activities when it's hot, cold, warm and cool

II Preparation

- Color pictures about A4

- A sub - board written on part "remember"

III Procedure:

1 Warm up.

a Check the old lesson.

- Get two Ss to go to the board and makes

sentences with given words

a He / hot weather

b Your parents / warm

c You / cool

d Lan / clod

- Then teacher corrects and gives marks

b Warmer.

- Guide Ss to play a game called

" Crossword Puzzle"

- Suggestions:

1 It's the season when you start your new

school year

2 It's the time when you can get presents

from Santa Claus

3 Tet is in this season

4 You don't go to school at this time of

the year

- Ask Ss some questions:

+ What do you do in the summer / winter /

fall / spring?

(I go for a picnic in the spring; I go to the

sea in the summer )

- Then teacher introduces new lesson:

- Call some pairs to practice before the

class

- Teacher listens and corrects their

mistakes

4.Production:

- Get Ss to work in pairs to ask and

answer about their partner's activities in

seasons

- Then teacher repeats the main content of

the lesson

II.Preparation:

-Sub- board; picture of part B1

III Procedure:

1 Warmer:

a) Check the lesson.

- Get two Ss to go to the board and make

sentences with words given

- Then teacher remarks and gives marks

b) Warmer:

-Call on some Ss to go to the board and

match

-Give aswer key

2 Presentation:

*Revision sport vocabularies,adverbs of

frequency and seasons:

- Hang the picture of part B1 on the

board and get Ss to say the name of the

activities and guess the season for each

picture

- Play the tape and ask Ss to listen one

time
