5 Test craft pr eparation

5.1 The tes shal be con ucted with the man facturer ins aled lar g es eng ine powe or desig nated

max imum rated eng ine p we for inb ar d, inb ar d/ utdriveor inb ar d wate jet drive p wered craft; or

for outb ard p wer ed cr aft , the r ated outb ar d eng ine p we to be in icated on the b at ca acity la el

5.2 The pr opele ins aled shal be as spe ified b the man factur er for inb ar d or inb ar d/ utdrive

p wer ed craf or, for outb ar d p wer ed craft , a vaia le fr om the outb ar d eng ine man factur er, providing

max imum spe d within the eng ine man factur er’s r ecommended ful thr ottle R PM rang e at the trim

setting as in 5.7

5.3 Stan ar d eq ipment pe manently ins aled fuel tan s shal be no mor e than half-ful at the s art

of each tes trial Porta le tan s, if used for outb ar d eng ines, one for each eng ine, shal be betwe n

6 Test c onditions and determination ofmax imum speed

6.1 Tes ing shal be con ucted on calm wate , meaning a wind velocity below 5 m/s (1 k ) an

max imum wa ve height of les than 0,2 m

6.2 Tes ing shal be con ucted with no onb ar d lo d othe than stan ar d sup led eq ipment , fuel as

in icated in 5.3, and the o erator, whoseweight shal not be mor e than 9 kg or les than 7 kg
