Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED – LISTEN AND READ

I OBJECTIVES:

Teaching aims : By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk to their friends about the programs that they like or dislike

II PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette player and tape

III PROCEDURES:

1 Warm - up (7’)

- Give some pictures to introduce the lesson

- Have Ss answer the question:

+ Which of these is your favorite activity in your free

time?

+ How many hours a week do you spend watching TV?

- Answer the question

- Answer the question

2 Presentation (10’)

- Introduce some new words:

+ town crier (n)

+ shout (v)

+ widely (adv)

+ teenager (n)

+ adult (n)

+ viewer (n)

+ channel (n)

+ interactive (v)

+ remote control (n)

- Ask Ss to practice the new words

- Check vocabulary:”Rub out and remember”
