V Disassembly & Assembly

1 Precaution

Please read the precautions as follows to prevent any damages to the LCD Monitor and also select the appropriate tools for disassembly and re-assembly

‹ Make sure all power connection is removed Be sure that the LCD Monitor

is in power off status

‹ Prepare soft cloth and sponge as working platform to place LCD monitor horizontally

‹ Hold LCD by the side carefully and DON’T touch or press panel directly

3 Disassembly Procedure

Information in this section is to perform the disassembly procedure of the LCD monitor Depending on the failures, replace the defective parts accordingly

Asus PW191 LCD Monitor consists of various subsystems This section

describes the procedures for LCD monitor disassembly In addition, the

detailed disassembly procedures of individual subsystem will be provided for your service needs

The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps:

3.1 Stand Subsystem

3.2 Board subsystem

3.3 Panel subsystem

2 Remove 4 screws on the BACK COVER, and then Stand Subsystem can

be separated from main unit

4 Lift 8 latches of HINGE FRONT COVER to remove from HINGE, two on the top, three on the left and the other three on the right side

6 Remove 4 screws, and remove NECK REAR COVER

7 Remove 3 screws on the front side of HINGE

8 Follow the steps Press down the hinge first, then lift the bottom of HINGE REAR COVER, and remove HINGE REAR COVER slightly

10 Remove 8 screws on BASE COVER and BASE BRACKET can be removed

3 Lift and remove BACK COVER

Main Board Shielding

1 Remove 8 screws on MAIN BOARD SHIELDING

2 Use spacer screwdriver to remove 4 screws

3 Pull downward MIAN BOARD SHIELDING to dismount

Inverter Board Shielding

1 Remove 1 screw on the INVERTER BOARD SHIELDING

2 Pull down the INVERTER BOARD SHIELDING to loose 4 latches

4 Remove 1 tape and lift LVDS connector door of the MIAN BOARD to pull out LVDS cable carefully

3 Remove 4 screws on both sides

4 Lift and dismount LCD SHIELDING

5 3 tapes and LVDS cable can be re-used for panel SWAP

The assembly procedure consists of the following steps:

4.3 Stand subsystem

4.1 Panel Subsystem

1 Insert LVDS cable carefully and sticker 3 tapes to fix cables

2 Assemble LCD panel and LCD SHIELDING

3 Tighten 4 screws on both sides

4.2 Board Subsystem

1 Locate SPEAKER module in BEZEL, make sure longer (red) cable on left and shorter (white) cable on right, and tighten 4 screws

2 Pack up speaker cable into wire saddle

3 Paste 3 tapes to fix the speaker cable

3 Insert LVDS cable and press down connector door carefully Stick one tape

to fix the cable

4 Connect Key control cable with KEY BOARD and MAIN BOARD

5 Pack up key control cable into wire saddle, and paste 1 tape to fix the cable

6 Insert inverter cable into POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD

4 Secure 4 screws to lock VGA and DVI port

Back Cover

1 Assemble BACK COVER, and press down along sides to lock latches

2 Tighten 2 screws

3 Follow the steps, insert the top of HINGE REAR COVER first, then push down HINGE, and press the bottom of HINGE REAR COVER to install

4 Secure 3 screws in the front of HINGE

5 Install NECK REAR COVER to HINGE and secure 4 screws

6 Secure 2 screws in the front side of HINGE head

7 Mount form the bottom of HINGE FRONT COVER, and press along both sides to lock 6 latches

8 Install NECK FRONT COVER

9 Assemble stand subsystem, and secure 4 screws
