I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Talk about and describe recess activities

- Vocabulary about activities at recess

- Ask and answer questions about activities at recess

- Develop reading skill

1 WARM – UP: (5’)

What subject is it?

In this subject we:

+ do some experiments in Electronics.

+ learn how to use computers.

+ study maps and learn about different countries.

+ study how to speak, listen, read and write.

+ learn how to read stories and poems.

+ learn past and present world events.

2 PRESENTATION: (10’)

- Stick the pictures on the board

- Ask questions:

a Where are the students?

b Are they studying?

c What are they doing?

- Ask students to match the words and the pictures

- Correct mistakes if necessary

- Pre-teach new vocabulary:

+ bell (n)

+ excited (adj)

+ go (indoors) (n)

+ recess (n)

+ chat (v)

+ skip rope (n)

+ (play) blind man’s bluff (n)

+ (play) catch (n)

+ (play) marbles (n)

- Check vocabulary: RUB OUT AND REMEMBER

3 PRACTICE: (20’)

- Ask students to read the text silently

- Call some students to read to check pronunciation

- Guide students to ask and answer about the

students’ recess activities in the picture

- Have students notice the present continuous tense
