LESSON 3- part ( 6-7 )

I Aims:

1 Knowledge: : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

 Read and say the three Dd words correctly

Vocabulary : dog, drum, dragon

2 Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing

3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter Dd and its sound correctly

*(Requirements: students with disability can see and say)

Activity 7

7.1 Listen, point and repeat (5 mins)

 Show the students the doll phonics card Point to it and say:

/d/ - doll Ask them to repeat

Mime holding a doll and say /d/, doll

 Encourage the students to do the same

 Say the letter and ask students do the action

 Play the CD

 Ask students to listen, point and repeat the word

7.2 Colour the pictures of the words that start with the

d sound Say the d words (7 mins)

 Point to pictures and have students name them

 Name some colours and ask the students to repeat

Ask the students to colour the pictures which have Dd in

them

Give the students 4 minutes to colour in the ‘drum’ and

‘dog’ Go around the classroom providing any necessary

help

(Requirements: students with disability can see and paint 2

pictures

Activity: Craftwork (10mins)

 Ask the students to take out their notebooks

 Ask them to choose one word and then draw the letter and

the picture in their notebooks

 Tell them to colour the letter and the picture

 The three first students who finish will show their picture to

the class

corresponding pictures

 Write the letter Dd

3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter Dd and its sound correctly*(Requirements:

students with disability can see and say)

 Have the students say the sound individually, correct the

pronunciation if necessary

 Demonstrate how to write the big D stroke

by stroke

 Draw an example of letter D using dashed lines

 Use a different colored chalk to model tracing the letter D

 Have some students practice tracing letter D on the board

 Have students trace letter D in the books

 Go around to give help if necessary
